The conference presented the challenges, opportunities, and threats consistently faced by heritage conservationists, planners, real estate developers, architects, urban researchers, and cultural professionals dealing with industrial heritage.
The conference examined the dilemmas of industrial heritage in Hungary, not only within the domestic context but also placed them in a broader international perspective. Through lectures and round-table discussions, heritage conservationists, architects, real estate and urban developers, and cultural experts collectively sought answers to the most pressing questions on preservation and development. The professional program was enriched with new perspectives by two photography exhibitions, film screenings, a dance performance, a standing reception, and preliminary city walks.
