Gap Site

Gap Site

An international conference on the fundamental issues of infill development in heritage environments with the participation of Hungarian and international architects, heritage conservation experts and representatives of municipalities.

The focus of the conference was the 'opportunity or constraint' dilemma. In the first session, we presented the situation in Hungary, with particular emphasis on the debates surrounding infill development in Budapest's eclectic urban fabric. The second session aimed to showcase European examples. Architects from Vienna, Berlin, and Paris presented their plans and discussed their approaches in this environment. The third session explored alternative ways of utilizing gaps.
