Outdoor Cinema
Garden Cinema was the green edition of KÉK's regular architecture film club, aiming to introduce the concept of community gardens and the possibilities for public participation in green space maintenance to a wider audience.
The screened films were thematically connected to the KÉK Community Garden initiative. During the film club, we presented community gardens from various countries, including British victory gardens, Cuban urban farms, examples from Germany, Switzerland, and America, as well as explored the issues of social architecture and architectural interventions.
Films screened included: Dig for Victory (1941, Ministry of Agriculture of Great-Britain); Wurzeln schlagen (2009, Roland Achini); City Farmers (1996, Meryl Joseph); The Garden of Eatin': A Short History of America's Garden (2009, Roger Doiron), Citizen Architect Samuel Mockbee and the Spirit of the Rural Studio (2010, Sam Wainwright), Our Little Garden of Eden (2010, Mano Khalil).
