KÉK Climate Platform Program

The Climate Platform programme of the Contemporary Architecture Centre Foundation was launched in early 2025 to provide holistic responses to the global climate crisis and ecological emergency. The programme creates a forum where scientific research, professional experiences, and social initiatives related to climate change can intersect, and where differing viewpoints not only coexist but complement each other.

The aim of the Climate Platform is to generate a new kind of dialogue between scientists, experts, decision-makers, and citizens, so that problems can be viewed and addressed within their real context. We strive to eliminate current communication gaps — messages failing to achieve the necessary impact, people not understanding the severity of the problems, failing to recognise the links between global climate change and ecological disaster.

Our platform seeks to fill the gap between currently fragmented initiatives with an interdisciplinary and holistic approach. We don't just talk about the problems but actively work on practical solutions — be it technological breakthroughs, small community programmes, deep adaptation, or the proponents of degrowth. We believe that these positions can complement rather than exclude each other in a constructive dialogue.

The programme grew out of the Community Gardens Project, building on over a decade of experience, but now approaches the issue of urban climate adaptation from a broader perspective. As part of the Climate Platform, we continue to promote community gardens, work on establishing a national network of gardens, participate in national and international collaborations, connect the public, experts, and policymakers, and create a common platform for climate adaptation initiatives.
