Remix Architecture

The Remix Architecture initiative by the Contemporary Architecture Centre aims to develop an alternative procedure for conducting architectural competitions that grants greater design freedom, creates opportunities for diverse use, and enhances economic, design, and content efficiency of the process.

We organised a two-day professional workshop at the Loffice in Budapest linked to the Remix Architecture initiative, where we developed the methodology for such a project tender procedure and explored the sociocultural, economic, and political aspects of the issue. As a result of the workshop, the methodology developed was published under a CC licence, allowing it to be tested and applied in real situations later. We hope our initiative will trigger processes that lead to the general application of project tender systems that offer greater creative freedom, based on permissive copyright licences.
