Inclusive Community Building and Knowledge Exchange - SK-HU Interreg
The project titled Inclusive Community Building and Knowledge Exchange was realised through the collaboration of KÉK – Contemporary Architecture Centre and Punkt between 2020 and 2021, with the support of the Interreg V-A Slovakia–Hungary Cooperation Programme.
The aim of the project was to establish a cross-border professional cooperation seeking answers to how viable and sustainable urban ecosystems can be created by involving relevant stakeholders, and what impact community events have on the everyday lives of city dwellers and the development of urban environments.
The programme focused on the mutual exchange of two areas of expertise:
KÉK shared its methodology developed in the previous Shared Cities project with the Punkt team, enabling the measurement of the social and urban impact of cultural events.
Punkt, in turn, shared its practice on how to organise community events based on zero waste principles, while actively involving and educating local residents on sustainability topics.
As a practical outcome of the project, KÉK prepared a guide for the businesses and organisations of Bartók Béla Boulevard, providing a step-by-step approach to organising events in an environmentally friendly, zero waste manner.
The publication is available for free download on the KÉK website, and physically available at the KÉK community office. The guide is created using risograph technology, making it not only sustainable but also visually appealing – potentially usable as a poster.
