Architecture is not just about design and construction – and a city is not merely the sum of its buildings, roads, and people. At KÉK, we believe that thinking about the city is a shared concern. That's why we created the KÉK+ mentoring programme, which offers developmental and community opportunities for those interested in contemporary architecture, visual culture, and the urban environment – and who wish to play an active role in shaping them.
The programme’s mentors and guest speakers include professional advisors, curators, and project leaders from KÉK, who provide not only knowledge but also opportunities to participate in real projects. During the training, participants delve into current urban issues through various tasks, working as a community and supporting each other – gaining real experiences and practical knowledge.
Main topics of the programme:
Urban planning – Challenges of Budapest, smart cities
Sustainable urban systems
Education and interpretation of our visual environment
Curatorial work – organising exhibitions and cultural events
Architectural writing and journalism
Participatory (community) design methods
Professional networking and community building
Participation in the mentoring programme is free of charge and open to all interested persons over the age of 18, regardless of their background or qualifications. The only conditions are openness, curiosity, and willingness to actively participate.
Participants gain direct insight into the workings of KÉK, collaborating with mentors who are actively shaping contemporary urban thinking.
